My professional and academic path always complemented each other; conducting to research trails based on lived experiences; and to questions that emerged from them. This complementarity was mainly present from 2001; when I became a teacher of future early childhood educators and teachers in the field of Special Education and Early Childhood Intervention. In recent years (2008-2012); I developed; implemented and coordinated a Master in Early Childhood Intervention that particularly motivated me to study pre-service and in-service training in this area; leading to several national and international peer-reviewed academic conference papers. At present; I am doing a Post-Doctoral research; financed by the Foundation for Science and Technology/FCT Portugal; concerning training practices in Early Childhood Intervention in the United Kingdom (Research Center - CEDAR; University of Warwick) and Portugal (Research Center - UIED-FCT;UNL); aiming to describe; analyze and articulate contents and training processes; with the ultimate purpose of establishing practical and research based recommendations for professional training in this field.
